Anya's Garden of Natural Perfume announces New Packaging
Miami Shores, FL., (Sept 5, 2008). Anya's Garden of Natural Perfume announces new packaging for her perfume line and the boxes and art
paper fit well in the ecological theme of her perfumery. The new
handmade boxes are embedded with wildflower seeds and are made from
recycled paper and fibers from the Lokta Daphne plant. The boxes can be
flattened and covered with moist soil and wildflowers will sprout and
grow.
Anya McCoy, the perfumer of Anya's Garden who is also the head of the Natural Perfumer's Guild, announces the launch of the packaging after a two-year search. The quest resulted in handmade boxes reflecting the hands-on ethic of the artisan perfumer. In keeping with the green focus of her business, Anya found boxes that are composed of sustainable Daphne plant fiber and 50% recycled paper. To complete the garden theme, the boxes are embedded with wildflower seeds, and once the perfume bottle is removed, the box can be flatted and placed under a half-inch of soil, either in a pot or in the ground. With water and sun, the wildflowers will sprout, giving a true cycle of life and completion to the theme of Anya's Garden.
The paper has a soft, almost suede-like texture, and the tiny seeds are visible, giving a very natural and organic feel to the packaging. Colored bands of Lotka paper - the Daphne fiber source - provide a decorative band around the boxes, and they are topped with redesigned labels. Much of the artwork on the labels is computer-generated by Anya McCoy.
"I resisted placing my perfumes in retail outlets until now, due to my exacting demands for the proper packaging. Now I feel confident that the ethos and art of my perfumery is reflected in the packaging, and I am in negotiations with shops here in the USA, France and Germany about carrying my perfumes. It is a wonderful solution to something that I have longed for, and the beauty of the boxes, the simplicity of the concept and execution, has me very grateful that I pursued my dream."
