EX·TRACTS EVOLVES & EXPANDS FOR WINTER 2008 MARKET
- Seminars & Events Offer Added-Value for Participants -
WHITE PLAINS, NY, November 8, 2007 A bigger and broader range of personal care resources awaits retailers attending EX·TRACTS®: New discoveries in beauty and wellness, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, February 2 - 6, 2008. Beyond exhibits, EX·TRACTS participants also can enjoy a dozen retail-specific seminars - including two specifically targeted to the personal care industry - and several exciting after-hours activities.
Evolution & Expansion of Resources
"EX·TRACTS is evolving as a result of its relocation to the Javits Center," said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF Director and GLM senior vice president. "The show will be doubled in size, with 13,000 square feet of exhibit space, allowing established brands - like Archipelago Botanicals, Lothantique, Seda France The Thymes ,- to present a depth of resources. At the same time, the co-location with New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), affords EX·TRACTS attendees with easier access to many design-driven personal care lines - like K.Hall Designs, Lafco, MOR Cosmetics - who exhibit in NYIGF's juried Accent on Design® division."
This expansion allows EX·TRACTS to remain targeted to the needs of its core audience - spa, salon and specialty retailers - while also attracting additional retailers from specialty apparel boutiques, home fashion and lifestyle retail channels. According to GLM, about 10% of EX·TRACTS exhibitors are newcomers to the market, 45% are returning EX·TRACTS exhibitors and the remaining 45% are personal care suppliers relocating from other NYIGF divisions, or returning to EX·TRACTS after an absence from the market.
Together the shows, will offer buyers access to more than 2,700 exhibitors, including some 100 targeted personal care resources (cosmetics, perfumes, skincare, bath & body care, beauty accessories, hair care, natural and organic products and well-being lines) in both EX·TRACTS and throughout NYIGF, as well as thousands of complementary gift and home products at the Javits Center, Metropolitan Pavilion and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers. More than 40,000 buyers are expected to attend.
